1971 Farmer’s Weekly 12 May 11The bloubok (Hippotragus leucophaea) which had a distribution similar to that of the bontebok, was together with other species of game, completely exterminated at the end of 1799.
1987 Conserva Apr. 5The bloubok is not known to have survived beyond about 1800 and was apparently the first of the recent African mammals to become extinct.
