Afrikaans, DutchShow more Afrikaans, to shed or cut teeth, from Dutch van tanden wisselen literally ‘to exchange teeth,’ to cut second teeth.
Sheep-farming
Of lambs or kids: to cut second teeth in the place of milk teeth. Hence wissel adjective, wisselling participial adjective, of the age at which second teeth are cut. See also unwisselled.
